There are lots of amazing vegetarian spots in Taipei, but when you are looking for full-on vegan such as myself, it can be a lot trickier to find good places. Since there are a good number of articles out there, and one amazing website, cataloging all of Taipei’s Vegan restaurants, I figured I would focus in on another favorite category of mine: cafes. Luckily, this city is happy to oblige, and I have found some really great vegan cafes in Taipei! Check out my top 8 here, along with my order recommendations:

1. Fresh Bakery & Cafe

Fresh Bakery has a huge and constantly changing selection of breads, cakes, tarts, pizzas, and other sweet and savory treats, all very reasonably priced.

Some of my top picks:
– bacon/cheese/potato bread
– fresh mango mousse tarts
– cinnamon buns chocolate bread
– chocolate mousse cake

2. Green Bakery

Green Bakery puts a unique, healthier twist on traditional baked goods. The café is charming and every order comes with your choice of coffee or tea.

3. Vegan Heaven

Vegan Heaven offers the most refined desserts I’ve ever seen. They offer a nice variety of macarons, tarts, cakes, cookies, and drinks with a flawless presentation.

4. Soul R. Vegan

Soul R. Vegan is a super trendy café that is a favorite among vegans and non-vegans alike. They have a diverse menu that includes burgers, risottos, pastas, a huge variety of drinks, whipped cream topped waffles and other desserts.

– bacon spaghetti with Alfredo sauce
– black chocolate waffle

5. Bio @Peace Cafe

Bio (At) Peace Café is located in a serene area in the mountains in Xindian. While it’s not in the most accessible location, it’s well worth the trip to relax and enjoy their risottos, noodles, sandwiches and desserts.

Ooh Cha Cha has a fresh, healthy assortment of quinoa bowls, sandwiches, green smoothies and raw cakes. They use locally sourced ingredients where possible. They have set meals that are a great value and loyalty cards that allow you to earn a free slice of cake!

Loving Hut is an international chain of vegan restaurants. They are individually owned and all have a highly varied menu depending on the location. The Guangfu location by Sun Yat Sen Memorial Hall is the most upscale location in Taipei.
