The club scene has been around in Taipei for a while now, but if any of the popular clubs have been able to become successful, it’s only because they learned from Luxy. Luxy is by far the most authentic club in Taipei, offering different rooms for both hip-hop and electronic music, as well as lots of room for dancing. It is one of the biggest clubs around, but it is also always completely packed.

The Environment

Luxy takes its cues from the LA club scene: hot, gorgeous, and wild. Everything about the club was designed down to the last little detail and it looks amazing. The first thing you will notice at the main entrance is that the doormen are dressed in suits, and are surprisingly courteous compared to other clubs. If you plan on coming here you should also be prepared to dress to impress though; otherwise you might stick out a bit, and not in a good way.

As you make your way out of the elevator and through the laser grid foyer, you enter into the main hip hop room of the club. You will see that the table layout has been really well thought out. The tables are huge, but they don’t get in the way of the dance floor and general mayhem that occurs around the bar. The bar itself is also surrounded in lasers, which, of course, is awesome.

Everything about the main room looks great. From floor to ceiling, wall to wall, a lot of design work has gone into making a high quality dance club (not something found often in Taipei). Behind the DJ there are also 3 enormous movie screens, making the experience that much more exciting. Furthermore, there is a second level for you to get away from the crowd for a bit, and it even comes with another bar.

If you still don’t feel like you have enough space, or if you just need a change of scenery, Luxy also has an electronic music room with its own bar. It is smaller and less crowded than the main room, but don’t let that deter you from checking it out. The drinks are just as good and the people are just as attractive; not to mention the service is typically faster.

Still not enough for you? Luxy also offers a cigar lounge for you to get your classy smoke on. If all of that together doesn’t sound enticing, then there is just no satisfying you.

Wrap Up

After seeing a lot of the night life around Taipei, it’s fairly certain that Luxy has the best atmosphere for dancing and getting a little wild. While other clubs try to encourage music and dance, they just don’t pull the same kind of talent or crowd that Luxy can. And while Luxy is pricey, it isn’t any more expensive than the clubs closer to 101 area, but it does offer a better atmosphere and more choice of music. Furthermore, Luxy is always having some of the hottest events in town, whether it be top-ranked DJ, a chart-topping rapper, or just an excuse to go out. If you want a club experience similar to what’s going on in LA or Shanghai, then you need to take a trip to Luxy.
